you should show people double thirds and sixths, as they’re extremely useful for building technique (much more even use of fingers than normal scales, where finger 5 is used once and 4 almost not at all) Rosenthal was a serious advocate of this.
Love your comment “Practise with emotion always try your best to get better.” There are so many people who forget that
Thanks for bringing that out with your comment
thanks for telling us your knowledge with humor
When you say “most pieces are based off of scales”, I would like to know, what pieces are not based off of scales?
It’s funny to me how, when some people practice music, they’re just trying to “get it out of the way”. The whole point is to savor every note.
Syrinx by Debussy
Lypur, I have learned so much with you! I paid for lessons in the past with NO results – at least with your humor I finally get the concepts!! I am an intermediate player and recommend you highly! And for free? cannot belive it sometimes. Plus, you are VERY talented! Bless you always. Robert
A lot of pieces actually…
Most of those are composed after WO I though.
For example: check the second Viennese School (Schonberg, Berg, Webern)
Thank god I found you page, this knowledge is indispensible to me. I began piano as a child and circumstances lead to my not being able to play. I have a craving in side to learn how to play correctly, I’ve been teaching myself to play again by ear but what I play sounds so simple and has no texture. I’m trying to get the theory as I know this will unlock the ability to add texture and depth and style to my play. Your vids are amazing i’m going to learn so much from them thankyou!!
@alexcori2217 I thumb down this
lesson 35 and now your telling us what kind of instructor we should have
